In our world, in a time not far from ours, some people start to disappear. No one can explain it, and some of the witnesses claim to have seen some blue light right before the person disappeared.

Months later, there’s still no good news. People keep disappearing, without any apparent connection. Even though all the authorities have been mobilized, they haven't found any clue. All they know is it seems random. From young boys and girls to adult men and women, only old people are not affected.

What could be the reason? Who could be doing it? And more importantly, how are they doing it? All those questions remain unanswered.

In a house somewhere, a relatively normal boy is in the middle of eating lunch with his family. He suddenly feels dizzy, so he excuses himself and goes to the bathroom to clear up his head.

When he is crossing the door to reach the bathroom, he notices some strange “flash” of light near the end of his vision. He turns around but doesn’t see anything at all.

Thinking it has to be the same that made him dizzy, he doesn’t give it importance and enters the bathroom. Then he closes the door and turns the tap to let the water flow. When he’s throwing some water at his face, he sees a faint blue light in the mirror.

He isn’t feeling dizzy anymore, and this time he knows he has seen it. He turns around scared, because of the things he has heard in the news, linking blue lights with many of the missing people.

He wants to think it was just his imagination, but he isn't so lucky.

He can clearly see the light: faint and blurry, almost invisible, but there anyway.

Unexpectedly, a soft voice comes from the direction of the light.

- Don’t worry… I won’t hurt you…

Coming from a blue light, that doesn't really calm the boy. Unable to think of anything else, he asks the obvious question.

- Are... are you here to take me? - Replies the boy.

- Maybe – Says the light -. Can you open your eye?

- What?

- Let me help you, then…

The boy then feels something touching his forehead, and an intense pain fills his head, making him close his eyes, and then expands into the rest of his body.

Luckily for him, the pain doesn’t last long, and after a few moments, he can open his eyes again. He notices some changes in what he sees: there’s more in the room than there was before.

He now can see small lights of many colours, all around in the room, but the biggest change lies in what used to be only a faint blue light.

In its place, while still blue and translucent, the boy can now see the shape of a beautiful girl, about the same age as him.

- Ah... a girl! - Says the boy.

- That’s nice - replies the girl, with a smile -, you can even see me already! It would have been a shame if it hadn’t worked...

- But...

- What? Are you wondering why do I look so blue?

- Yes...

- That’s because my body isn’t in this world.

- Are you a ghost?

- No, I’m alive. I just left my body on the other side so I can return.

- Ah... – said the boy, relieved.

- Say, do you want to come to my world?

- It’s so sudden... I don’t really have much in here, so I guess it will be ok... Will I come back someday?

- Depends. I can send you back, but maybe once you see it, you get to like that world enough to stay in it.

- I will need some things...

- You can’t take anything with you. I’m not powerful enough to send more than what you are wearing to the other side.

- Oh... at least I can say goodbye, right?

- Sure – she smiles.

The boy comes out of the bathroom followed by the girl. When his family sees the light behind him, they get scared. The boy, with a somewhat sad look in his eyes, talks to his family.

- Don’t worry, I will be back someday. Goodbye mom. Goodbye dad.

While his family looks at him surprised, a blue light surrounds him, getting brighter, until his world can’t be seen anymore.

- So… What’s your name? – Says the girl.

- Leo. Leonard Armstrong. And yours?

Just before he loses consciousness, he can hear her.

- Liiel. But you can call me Ly.
